Coloring

At a year and a 1/2 Kam has learned to color. When he is done he will look up at you and smile. You are very proud of your work even if it happens to be on the tile or walls. Kasen and Avery never colored on anything but paper. We are always having to hide the crayons and markers and be on the look out.

Easter 2011

The kids had such a great time dying Easter eggs. It is so messy and the eggs are stinky, but I have learned to get over that. Kam was obsessed with the eggs. He carried a hard boiled egg around with him for probably three days. As he would drop them we would just replace them with fresh ones.

We have tried so many different kits but none ever turn out like the box says. This year the kids used their hands to dip and we just had the bold basic colors. I think we died about 36. They turned out great.

Kam was dying, eating, and laughing the whole time. He can be so funny.

Easter morning is always so exciting. The Easter Bunny decided to put money(change) and candy in the eggs this year. He thought the kids did not need so much sugar. The each got a DS game, Kam a singing soccer ball, some outside toys and balls and a few little things.

Kasen and Avery collected all there eggs and then opened them. Kam had another idea! He would pick up an egg open it and then eat the cand y and go on to the next one. Sometimes he even ate the paper!

We then got dressed and headed up to Trout Canyon to spend the day with Nicks' family. Kam enjoyed playing with this big plastic egg. Even took his nap with it.

Avery enjoyed finding Ladybugs. At one point she had waved me over to come see what was in her hand. She opened it up and no joke about thirty ladybugs came crawling out. It was like a scary movie!

Uncle Bruce and cousin Jimmy made a zip line. Kasen laughed so hard and had so much fun going up and down! It was such a great day !

Avery's 5th Birthday

Avery 5yrs old

After spending the afternoon at the ER with Kam I had about 30 minutes before we had friends and family over for Avery's actual birthday. I threw you a Tangled Party! Avery loves the movie so of course she got that for her birthday. Kasen has a Paper Jam guitar and Avery found a purple one she loved. The two of them rock out. It is so cute!

Avery also got the Tangled doll and loves to style her hair. Avery is such a sweet little girl. She tells you all the time how much she loves you and how thankful she is for everything. Five words to describe Avery would be: inquisitive, loving, giving, friendly, stubborn. Avery Has a love for learning and is always wanting to color or do workbooks. Her favorite places to eat out are Taco Bell and McDonalds. She can be a tom boy but also a girly girl. Her hair always has to be done and she loves getting her nails and toe nails painted. The new phase is the crackle nail polish.

You love taking care of your brothers and helping me out around the house. You will be a good mom when you are older. (ALOT older). Five years has gone fast and I have enjoyed every minute with you. We love you very much!

Avery's favorite saying is : seriously?

1st ER Visit!

What can I say except Kam is our DAREdevil. He loves to climb. He knows he is not supposed so if he sees you coming he will tend to jump off of whatever he has climbed. This case was no exception, but when he jumped he hit the edge of the chair on the way down. The tip of the nose had a huge gash in it. In the six years we have had kids this was the first real emergency we had and I did not know what to do. Nick ran a picture down to our pediatrician (less than 5 min away) and the nurse said definitely take him to the ER. So off I went. Nick was headed back to work and of course ran out of gas. I had to just leave him their to find his own help. (I did feel bad). When we got to the ER no one was in the waiting room so I got excited and thought we would be in and out. WRONG! We sat their for 3 hours. Trying to keep a 19 month old from touching every germy and disgusting thing in sight during his nap time was far more traumatising and painful than Kam's actual fall. I felt so bad for him. By the time we saw the doctor he said it could definitely use a stitch or two but it had already started to heal so he said it would be to painful to re open the wound and stitch it. To say the least I was not happy to hear that after waiting 3 hours and it being their fault there was nothing they could do. For Kams sake at least he didn't have to go through any more pain. The doc said it would just take a long time to heal. I am hoping it won't scar. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and still in the healing process. I hope I do not have to take any of my children back their again.

Avery's 5th Birthday with Pahrump Family

In nick's family there are 9 people with April birthdays. We had a huge party over at Cousin Katie's house. Avery, Jackson and his brother Travis are the only April kids birthday's. I made them each their own little cakes and made a whole bunch of cupcakes for the other children. Avery wanted bright colors so I use fluorescent food coloring. They were definitely bright.

Avery is always spoiled because she is the only girl. She got the big LaLa Loopsie doll and just loves her. She also got make-up, purses, clothes and many other nice gifts. Avery is always so grateful and you never have to remind her to say thank you. Five years has gone so fast. She just isn't a baby anymore. (sad)

Kamden enjoying the cupcakes!!

A few of the cousins.

Avery and Jackson

5th Birthday with Las Vegas Granpa and Grandma

My mom and dad came out to Parhump and brought Avery a cake and showered her with gifts. Her favorite gift was the La La Loopsie Ferris wheel and small figurines. This picture below is of grandpa and Kasen trying to get all the La La Loopsie things out of the packaging. I do not understand why they make it so difficult.

My mom also picked her out a really cute dress with matching shoes that Avery just loved.

Cute cake they brought. Avery was so thankful they were able to spend the day with her.

Carnival

There was a small carnival up at the Nugget we took the kids to. We thought we could get away with not buying Kam a ticket. We were WRONG! He saw the rides and went crazy. Avery and Kam rode the little kids rides and loved it. Kasen is into the older kid rides, the ones that make me sick.

Nick was the lucky one that got to ride with Kase. There was a lady sitting behind them throwing up. It was so disgusting, but it didn't stop Kasen. He rode this ride a few more times by himself.

Avery wanted to ride a ride with Kasen and he was nice enough to go. It was a great day with the family!
