Time Square
So we all met up at JFK airport and took a 45 min. ride to our hotel. Everything is so different. Building are all extremely tall and skinny and no yard. Our hotel was just a few block from Time square and we were able to walk to most places. We did take one of the bus tours that drove us to upper and lower Manhattan, by Central Park (which was enormous) , through the Bronx and across the Brooklyn Bridge.
I had always thought the ball on New Year's came out from the ground. I was wrong. It is in the middle of a building way up high. It actually looks pretty small from the ground.

The Statue of Liberty was closed for cleaning. We were able to take a boat tour that drove us around the Statue.

This is one of the new tours they are working on in place of the Twin Tours.
The subway experience was a little scary at first but once we got the hang of it, it was quite fun and very practical.
New York City Fire Department
One of the Church's we passed. It is just beautiful. We were told there is like a five year wait to get married here.
Another first was taking the Amtrak over to Philadelphia.

Changing of the Guards
We were able to find our friend Jason Workman's burial site. He was one of the Navy Seals that died in a helicopter crash.
Our Hotel in Washington D.C.
House of Lincoln. It was such a great trip with great friends. I appreciate Adrienne setting up the entire trip. She saved us a ton of money on all of the research she did on hotels and transportation. I loved all of the history and the museums we were able to go in. New York was probably my favorite and I would love to go back!

We went to NYC in October 2012. L.O.V.E.D. IT! I would LOVE to go back with my family when everyone is old enough to enjoy the chaos there!
