Soccer

Avery was on the U8 League this year. They were the Thunder Cats. Her coaches wer Jennifer Jensen and Kathryn Gent. Avery was one of the better players and scored goals almost every game. One game she scored 4. Way to go Avery! She never gave up.

Kasen was on the U10 Ice Dragons. Her coach was billy Foy. Kasen usually plays football but couldn't make the wait, so he took the year off and played scoccer. Kasen always does his best and is very competitive. He was one of the best on his team. They actually pick 10 kids from his age division to be on the All Star Team and KAsen was chosen. It is a pretty big honor. We are so proud of you!

3rd Grade Favorites

Kasen's assignment was to come up with something to put in a time capsule. I thought this was a cute idea.

First Day of School!

I am so lucky that my kids LOVE school! They were so excited to get there new back packs and clothes. Kasen is going into 3rd grade. His teacher is Mrs. Floyd who is Nick's aunt. She is really tuff but funny and kind to the kids.

Avery is going into 1st grade. Her teacher is Mrs. True. She has known Avery since she was born. She is so nice and sweet and is a perfect match for Avery.

Time just seems to be flying bye. It is crazy to think I have had Kasen for 8 years.

Friends

One of my very good friends JoAnn Dean was moving to Florida. Her husband Kris has joined the military to become a pilot. I thought it would be nice to have a going away lunch with some friends.
Christy Hayes, Lori Odegard, JoAnn Dean, Charese, and Nora Nygaard. We went to Red Sky and had a wonderful time. I will miss you JoAnn!

Yard Sale

We had our first Yard Sale! It took Nick's grandma asking us if we were hoarders to finally bite the bullet and have a garage sell. We literally just pulled everything out and just let people give us a price. We actually made a good amount of money. This is what Kam did during the sale.
Kasen and Avery sold cans of soda and Country Time Lemonade. We let them keep and split the money they made.

Happy Birthday

I can't believe I am already 34 years old! I had a nice birthday with my family, and of course Nick had to put all 34 candles on my cake!

New York

New York Baby! Our friends Ian and Adrienne asked us to come on a trip to New York. Both Nick and I have always wanted to go so of course we made it happen. We went to New York, Philadelphia for just 1 day and then over to Washington D.C. Another couple from Utah Mandy and Ronnie came along to. Thanks for my mom and Nick's mom for watching our kids for 7 days.
Time Square
So we all met up at JFK airport and took a 45 min. ride to our hotel. Everything is so different. Building are all extremely tall and skinny and no yard.  Our hotel was just a few block from Time square and we were able to walk to most places.
We did take one of the bus tours that drove us to upper and lower Manhattan, by Central Park (which was enormous) , through the Bronx and across the Brooklyn Bridge.
I had always thought the ball on New Year's came out from the ground. I was wrong. It is in the middle of a building way up high. It actually looks pretty small from the ground.
Our Hotel.
Reflection Pools at 911.
Naked Cowboy
The Statue of Liberty was closed for cleaning. We were able to take a boat tour that drove us around the Statue.

Picture from the boat.
This is one of the new tours they are working on in place of the Twin Tours.

The subway experience was a little scary at first but once we got the hang of it, it was quite fun and very practical.

New York City Fire Department

One of the Church's we passed. It is just beautiful. We were told there is like a five year wait to get married here.

Another first was taking the Amtrak over to Philadelphia.

 Liberty Bell
Famous Love statue

This is a famous Philadelphia Cheese steak restaurant that has been featured on the food network. The line was wrapped clear around the building. It was so yummy!

Rocky Statue

From Philadelphia we went over to Washington D.C.
Changing of the Guards

We were able to find our friend Jason Workman's burial site. He was one of the Navy Seals that died in a helicopter crash.

Our Hotel in Washington D.C.
House of Lincoln. It was such a great trip with great friends. I appreciate Adrienne setting up the entire trip. She saved us a ton of money on all of the research she did on hotels and transportation. I loved all of the history and the museums we were able to go in. New York was probably my favorite and I would love to go back!
