4th of July

Nick was in charge of the Liberty Fest in Pahrump this year. We new we wouldn't be seeing much of him so he suggested we head on up to Utah and spend the 4th of July with my parents. We met my parents in Beaver, Utah. My mom is still cleaning out my grandmas house and small towns always have the funnest holidays so Me and the kids decided to go.

My dad teaching my kids how to make a point on a stick for roasting hot dogs. Kasen thought it was so fun plus he got to use a knife. Avery did a few strokes and was over the excitement.

Here they are roasting the hot dogs.

Avery said it was taking to long and that we should just cook them in the microwave.

Picture was taken before heading off to the 4th of July parade. They just love their Las Vegas grandma. We got up really early so we could get a great spot along the parade route. When we got there very few people were there. We were told that the 4th parade is just small and the bigger parade would be held for the 24th of July. It didn't really matter because my kids loved it.

Kasen has never had the opportunity to be in a parade and really wanted to so being a small town it seems like anything goes. We happened to bring his bike up, put him in the parade in the bike section and someone made him a festive hat.

He was so excited about it and talked about it for a few days.

After the parade we headed over to the park. Kids enjoyed the jumpy slide and snow cones. Good thing Avery had some shorts under that skirt!

Avery took 2nd in her age group in the foot race. I might be biased but I think she would have gotten first but got a little bit of a slow start.

Kasen took 1st in his age group.

Had their faces painted. A football and a ......

flower.

We headed over to my cousin Brennon and Chantell's house for a barbecue, swimming and fireworks. It was a long day but the kids had a blast.

Kam loved the sparklers but was running around so fast I wasn't able to get a picture!

You can see my kids are about falling asleep. This was about 10:00 at night. We had so much fun but decided we never want to be apart from Nick on a holiday again!

Poor Kamden

Avery is all about doing hair lately. Dad and Kasen's is much to short and moms head is pretty sore from the different hair do's Avery has done. Who else does that leave - Kamden
Avery had Kamden sit while she did this little pony. She was so proud of herself and I thought she did a great job. To bad it wasn't on a little girl.

Kam was a good sport. I suggest she tried to do some styles on her dolls next time. It was so funny!

Swim Lessons

The kids started swim lessons at the end of June. There instructors were Paul and Brandon.
They had Paul last year and loved him. Kasen and Avery were so much more daring and willing to do what they asked.

Kamden waiting for his brother and sister.

Avery practicing her floating.

This is a pic of their class. They had a great two weeks and now they are swimming like little fish.

Kasen Turns 7!

Kasen was having his first birthday party with friends on Saturday the 11th. So on his actual birthday he wanted pizza for dinner and we sang to him. Usually we just have family over and his cousins. Kasen was so excited to have friends. Little did I know that 10 boys would be a little CRAZY!

I was trying to get ready for the party but of course Kam was making things a little more difficult. I looked out the window and this is what I saw: clothes, shoes and him just laughing as he played in the sprinklers.

Kasen wanted a football theme party so I came up with a few fun games. They had to through nerf balls into trash cans filled with water, tied a hoop high in the tree in which they had to aim and throw it in and I spun them 7 times and they had to see who could kick the football the farthest. We also had hot dogs, pinata, presents, cake and ice-cream and the boys just played.

Kasen of course liked all of his presents. He got a lot of football stuff, water guns, money and this Captain America set.

Kasen insisted on a football cake. I Thought this turned out great thanks to Albertsons.

Kasen, D'Angelo, Kai, Aiden, Teddy, Alex, Matthew, Gunner, (ALex and Grady were off playing)

The little goody bags were filled with candy, a football, coaching, whitles and football tatoos.

The boys played well together and Kasen said, "It was the best birthday ever!"

Last day of School

The last day of school we have field day. Kasen is so competitive and tried his hardest at every event. He said it was like the funnest day of his life. He had a wonderful first grade year. His teacher was Ms. Eisner who he adored. I loved her to. She cared so much about the kids and did everything she could to make learning fun and interesting.

Kasen had outstanding behavior, got student of the month twice and was on the A honor role. He ended his first grade year reading at a 3rd grade 5 month reading level. As a mom that makes me so proud. We had a school close this year and teachers ahd to be moved around. I will be heading to a different school which made Kasen a little sad as he will go whever I go.

Kasen and his good friend Damien Welch.

My student Leo Finkler brought this to me on the last day. It is a big cookie and it was so good. I will miss working at Floyd but I am sure I will like my new placement.

Baseball

Another year if baseball on the Dodgers. Kasen was amazing.. He hit two homeruns and quite a few that hit the fence. Avery loves to bat and is very good but still thinks the out field is a little boring. They both agree the snacks are one of the best things about playing! They both worked really hard and had a fun time playing.

Yes! I love Spaghetti

I would say it is safe to assume Kam played with the spaghetti more than he ate it!
