Donkey Basketball

Let me start off by saying I have never laughed so hard in my life as I did watching Donkey Basketball. The high school and middle school put this on as a fund raiser. I new most of the people on all of the teams which made it even funnier. Nick rode for the Chamber of Commerce Team.
These donkeys were much taller than I had thought. They had to jump up on them with no help which was a challenge for most of the people. Instead of dribbling they just passed. But depending on whether your donkey wanted to move or not was the funny part. Some were bucking, running, walking, and some just refused to move. If you lost the ball you could get off but you had to drag your donkey with you. Much harder than it sounds. Nick said it was just exhausting. They also had poop squares you could buy. Of course Kasen just thought this was hilarious. They plotted out the court and you could pay 5 dollars to pick where the donkey would poop. If it got in your square you won a hundred dollars. Kasen of course spent his money on this but didn't win.  In the final was the Teacher Team and the Chamber of Commerce Team. Teachers Won!

The Bee Problem

So we have had bee's up in our roof since last summer. Since they were not hurting us in any way we left them. BIG MISTAKE!!!!  The other day they were swarming so bad we could not open our front door. We were not sure what kind of bees so I called to have someone come out. They told me it would cost up to 1 Thousand dollars. No way was I going to pay that. So Nick and our neighbor got suited up and decided to spray bee killer and put a net in the hole where the hive is. It was pretty comical to see them spray and run as fast as they could. They did this over several days. It seems to be working but I am sure this story is To Be Continued........

Larry the Leprechaun - St. Patrick's Day

We had a visit from Larry the Leprechaun! When the kids woke up they woke up to a disaster. Larry made a mess of our family room.

He did leave some treats! Lucky Charms, green beans, green Mike and Ikes, green gum, green necklaces, green lollipops and 7 up which has a green bottle. He left a little note:   I had such a fun time playing with your toys. Sorry for the mess. Be good kids and help your mom and dad clean up. Sorry I missed you but I had to run.......... Love, Larry

Gross!!! Larry even used our bathroom.  Note: Sorry I just couldn't hold it... Larry. The kids laughed hysterically at that one.

For breakfast we had green pancakes and we let them have there sodas. Yes we are suckers!

Avery wanted a clover in her hair for church.

On our way to church. I have know idea wear Kamden escaped to :)
It sure was a fun morning for the kids.

11th Anniversary

Here's to another great year! 11 that is. I love being married to such a great man. He provides for us and is such a caring person and father! Another couple and ourselves went to the Red Rock Hotel and stayed the night. We enjoyed a nice dinner in Boca Park and then came back to the Hotel and hung out.
Nick always has a surprise in store so when we got back to the room These beautiful chocolate covered strawberries were awaiting. Yum! Rose petals were also spread out into a heart shape fashion just like our wedding night. I love you Nick!

Kasen's Creation

Kasen loves to create and build different things. We had these cardboard tubes laying around. He had told me not to throw them away and he could figure something out to do with them. With no help from us he cut and taped and made him and Kamden guns. Pretty Cool!

The next day he took poster board and made boats. They decided to float them in the bathtub. They worked great for about 3 minutes and then got soggy and fell apart. Another good idea!

Broken Nose

So Kasen was finishing up soccer and heading into baseball season. He is really good at baseball but at practice it was dark and they had the bright lights on. One of his teammates threw the ball  to him on second base and with his glasses and the lights it glared and he did not even see the ball coming. Smashed right into his nose. Nick was with him and it bled for over 5 minutes. We did not know if it was broken but he couldn't breathe well. He stayed home from school the next day it was so painful.
I took him to get x-rays and sure enough the Doc. said it was broken in 2 places. Thank goodness they were "clean" breaks and there was know surgery or re-setting involved.
I felt so bad for him. He couldn't breathe well for a couple of weeks!

Soccer Tournament

Kasen was picked to be on the Pahrump All Star soccer team after just one season of playing soccer. He was to light to play football this year. I was not sure how he would take to soccer but he loves it!
He is playing goalie and defense. Playing in a soccer tournament in Las Vegas.

Dr. Suess's Birthday

We happened to be at my mom and dad's for Dr. Seuss's birthday. It is always tradition to have green eggs and ham. We didn't have ham but bacon was the next best thing. The kids love having green eggs and green pancakes, green milk not so much!
