24th of July

We had our family reunion for my mom's side of the family up in Beaver. It definitely was not the same without my grandma. We had it on the 24th of July which is celebrated bigger and better than the 4th of July. (at least in Beaver)

We started the day of with the parade. I don't think my kids saw to many of the floats because they were to busy trying to pick up the candy that was being thrown. After the parade we headed over to the park.

my sister, cousin Brennen and his son Stihl

At the park there were bounce houses and bouncy slides. My kids just love these!
They had races and ate ICEE's. After we headed over do a different park and had lunch and the "Family Reunion"

Kam was trying so hard to blow bubbles but just wasn't very good at it.

It is always so good to see family. My cousin Jedd was there who I hadn't seen in about 10 years which was really nice to catch up. This year a lot of my aunts and uncles weren't there do to other family functions but I saw a lot of distant relatives. All the kids played very well together and enjoyed running around the park.

We went to the cemetery to see my grandmas headstone. I had seen it for the first time since she past just a couple of weeks prior. My grandma loved to sit and visit with people so the family had this bench made. It was beautiful.

My grandma was a nurse in the Navy and took such pride in our nation. She also has a flagpole next to her headstone. She was an amazing women!

Mammoth Creek

We headed up to Mammoth Creek for a nice quiet weekend. The weather was beautiful. The days were in the low 70"s and I actually had to bring pants for all of us. A far cry from the 105 degree weather we are having in Vegas.

The kids love coming up her because there are no schedules and they can just run wild. Kam and Kase loved riding the 4 wheelers and taking rides on the rhino. Kam would actually scream when his ride was over.

All the kids loved the tire horse. We could actually swing Kase and Avery high enough that they could reach the top of the cabin.

Avery didn't care to much about fishing but she loved playing with the worms. This completely grossed me out!

Kam always has to be doing what Kasen is doing so you can see he is pretending to fish with a stick that he had found. Nick's parents were up there to and we always have fun with them.

My Little Water Baby

Kam LOVES the water. You can not hold him or help him in any way. He just likes to float around by himself.

4th of July

Nick was in charge of the Liberty Fest in Pahrump this year. We new we wouldn't be seeing much of him so he suggested we head on up to Utah and spend the 4th of July with my parents. We met my parents in Beaver, Utah. My mom is still cleaning out my grandmas house and small towns always have the funnest holidays so Me and the kids decided to go.

My dad teaching my kids how to make a point on a stick for roasting hot dogs. Kasen thought it was so fun plus he got to use a knife. Avery did a few strokes and was over the excitement.

Here they are roasting the hot dogs.

Avery said it was taking to long and that we should just cook them in the microwave.

Picture was taken before heading off to the 4th of July parade. They just love their Las Vegas grandma. We got up really early so we could get a great spot along the parade route. When we got there very few people were there. We were told that the 4th parade is just small and the bigger parade would be held for the 24th of July. It didn't really matter because my kids loved it.

Kasen has never had the opportunity to be in a parade and really wanted to so being a small town it seems like anything goes. We happened to bring his bike up, put him in the parade in the bike section and someone made him a festive hat.

He was so excited about it and talked about it for a few days.

After the parade we headed over to the park. Kids enjoyed the jumpy slide and snow cones. Good thing Avery had some shorts under that skirt!

Avery took 2nd in her age group in the foot race. I might be biased but I think she would have gotten first but got a little bit of a slow start.

Kasen took 1st in his age group.

Had their faces painted. A football and a ......

flower.

We headed over to my cousin Brennon and Chantell's house for a barbecue, swimming and fireworks. It was a long day but the kids had a blast.

Kam loved the sparklers but was running around so fast I wasn't able to get a picture!

You can see my kids are about falling asleep. This was about 10:00 at night. We had so much fun but decided we never want to be apart from Nick on a holiday again!

Poor Kamden

Avery is all about doing hair lately. Dad and Kasen's is much to short and moms head is pretty sore from the different hair do's Avery has done. Who else does that leave - Kamden
Avery had Kamden sit while she did this little pony. She was so proud of herself and I thought she did a great job. To bad it wasn't on a little girl.

Kam was a good sport. I suggest she tried to do some styles on her dolls next time. It was so funny!
