Summer Days

It has been sooo hot lately that this is how we found our kids playing!

Kids 5 and 3 year old pics

We got the kids 5 and 3 year old pictures done the other day. Kasen is always such a ham, Avery is our tough one. She is so shy that everytime the photographer would talk to her she would either cover her face or give her the evil eye.

Prescott, Arizona

Nick had a meeting in Prescott, Arizona. I had never been to Prescott so me and the kids tagged along. It was a nice little town about 5 hours away. Our hotel was in the perfect location. We were surrounded by restaurants, the shopping district and the movie theater. While Nick was at his meetings I found a mall that had a play place and other little toys. It was a lot of fun for the kids. We also enjoyed miniature golfing, swimming and watched the new Harry Potter movie.

Oh How I've Grown

20 weeks 28 weeks

I had my 28th week check up with my specialist. Everything seems to be going well. The baby is about 2 1/2 pounds. With my blood disorder, the babies tend to have a higher risk of heart problems. My specialist had a pediatric cardiologist come in and do an extensive ultra sound on our babies heart. Everything looked perfect! We are so blessed that our baby is growing and doing well. As for names we have not yet decided. If anyone has ideas we are definitely open for suggestions. The last couple of appointments are baby has not been very photogenic. He loves to put his hand right in front of his face. We have gotten a few good side views but that is about it. As for me I have had a few issues with some veins, but I am still taking my blood thinner injections twice a day and I am hanging in there.

Independence Day

Nick had decided he needed a break from Pahrump so off we headed to Cedar City, Utah. Some of my best friends are their and I of course was so excited. Cedar is such a pretty town. It is nice and green and people just seem to be happy and friendly. We were hoping to escape the heat, but that did not quite happen. It was still in the low 90's. We were very excited to spend time with our friends Carrie and Matt and their daughter Kadence. Unfortunately Matt had to work overtime patrolling the mountain so we only got to see him for a moment. We spent Friday night at Carrie's and at about 9:00 set off the first round of fireworks. The girls sat in the back of Nicks SUV acting scared. It was cute. Kasen just wanted to be up close to those fireworks.

Saturday we woke up early and went to the home town 4th of July parade. The kids loved chasing after the candy and seeing the fire trucks and tanks. We wanted to get a head start over to the park for some fun activities so we left the parade a bit early.

Matt was able to join us for the parade so that was nice. At the park they had about 6-8 different bounce houses in which the kids absolutely loved. They also played a fishing game and for a dollar they each got a stuffed animal, a bendy animal and another little toy. It wasn't bad. We then headed over to Applebee's for a nice lunch. Later that evening I took the kids to visit my other good friend Toni and Randy. Our kids love playing together as well. We then headed back to Carrie's and lit more fireworks. At about 10:00 p.m. the city did there big fireworks show. Carrie lives about a mile away and we got blankets, popcorn and drinks and sat in her front yard and watched the big show. It was such a fun weekend and my kids were very sad to leave. I wish I lived closer to my friends and that we could spend a bit more time together.
Thanks Carrie and Matt for entertaining us for the weekend.

Ice Age

I took the kids to watch Ice Age. We loaded up on pocorn, candy and drinks. The kids thought the movie was funny and to my surprise sat quietly the entire movie. Kasen loved the big scary dinosaurs and Avery thought the baby mammoth Peaches was so cute.

Threadzfest 2009

Nick put on Threadzfest for the second year. Let me just tell you that it is an amazing event and that I am so proud of Nick and his accomplishments. It takes months of planning. Threadzfest is a free event for the town of Pahrump. He holds a skateboard competition at our skate park and right next store he has vendors come (both food and product like DC, Circa, Vans), and holds a huge concert. This year he had 9 pretty big name bands. A lot of them were currently touring on the Warp Tour. The younger kids were all big fans of them. We had people come from Vegas, Arizona and Pahrump.

The event drew about 2000 people. My kids loved being there all day and helping there dad. This was a picture of the stage. This year Kasen enjoyed climbing the rock wall that they had. We tried to get Avery to try and it was an absolute no. She had fun eating her Italian Ice. We had a lot of fun!

All of Nick's family and friends came out and helped. We want to give them a big THANKS! Threadzfest was a huge success and the feedback was all positive. Until next year.......
